In a somber ceremony held at the Pentagon on Thursday, President Donald Trump paid tribute to the roughly 3,000 Americans who lost their lives in the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. He pledged that the country will "never forget" the day that permanently altered America while speaking with First Lady Melania Trump.

Trump offered condolences to families who "still feel a void every day of your lives" in his homage to the victims of the Pentagon, the World Trade Center, and United Flight 93.

He related heartwarming tales from that day, such as Tom McGinnis's last phone call to his wife, Iliana, while he was stranded on the 92nd story of the North Tower, in which he said, "If we get out of here, it'll be a total miracle." Sweetheart, you are loved. Look after Caitlin.

Trump said that America would "never yield" and that "our great American flag will never, ever fail." He also denounced the "savage monsters" responsible for the attacks and commended the bravery of first responders and passengers who retaliated.

Twenty-four years after the bloodiest attack on American soil, President Donald Trump presided over a somber service Thursday at the Pentagon in remembrance of the roughly 3,000 victims of the September 11 terrorist attacks. He stood with First Lady Melania Trump and spoke to families, saying that he and the First Lady "unite with you in sorrow." His message was one of strength and remembrance.

"The First Lady and I join in sorrow for every member who continues to experience a void in their lives on a daily basis. And we reaffirm our profound commitment as a nation today to never forget September 11, 2001," Trump stated.

The president recounted poignant tales from that morning, such as one of Tom McGinnis's last phone calls while he was stranded on the 92nd level of the North Tower. From the floors above us, individuals are leaping. It will be a complete miracle if we escape from here. Sweetheart, you are loved. McGinnis instructed his wife, Iliana, to take care of Caitlin.

Trump highlighted the bravery of first responders and passengers who retaliated, calling the attacks an attack on "the very symbols of our civilization." "However, Americans did not hesitate here in Virginia, in New York, or in the skies over Pennsylvania." He stated, "They stood up and demonstrated to the world that we will never give up, we will never bend, and our great American flag will never, ever fail."

Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, was shockingly assassinated the day before the event. Trump started his speech by declaring that Kirk, a longtime friend and well-known conservative speaker, will receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom posthumously.

The Pentagon ceremony was a reminder of America's resolve and a memorial to those who died on 9/11. Trump's comments demonstrated his unwavering message of unity and national strength in the face of sorrow.
