VP JD Vance Blasts Democrats for Padding Blue-State House Seats with Illegal Aliens in Census Count

Democrats were criticized by Vice President JD Vance on Sunday for "rigging" the census by counting illegal aliens to fill House seats in blue states. He called on Republicans to retaliate with a census overhaul and redistricting under Trump's leadership.

Democrats gain from counting illegal aliens in congressional apportionment, giving states like California more House seats than they should, Vance told Sunday Morning Futures.

He said Republicans need "backbone" to redraw maps in red states as vigorously as Democrats do in blue regions, and he applauded President Donald Trump's demand for a new census that excludes illegal aliens.

Supported by organizations connected to Beto O'Rourke and George Soros, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has urged a court to take away the seats of Texas Democrats who fled to New York and Illinois in order to stop GOP redistricting.

According to Vice President JD Vance, Republicans can no longer afford to overlook Democrats' years-long manipulation of the electoral system. In an interview with Maria Bartiromo on Sunday Morning Futures, Vance charged that blue states were abusing their congressional influence by using "crazy gerrymanders" to eliminate GOP seats and by counting illegal aliens in censuses.

Vance stated, "I didn't realize this until a couple of years ago — you actually count illegal aliens for apportioning representatives. They occasionally cast ballots even though they are not allowed to. California is rewarded for admitting illegal aliens into their state and even asks the taxpayers of states like Ohio to fund them, which is why they have far more House seats than they should due to their huge population of illegal foreigners.”

Despite the fact that their taxpayers pay for policies they disagree with, states like Ohio and Indiana have less legislators as a result of this imbalance, according to Vance. He went on to say, "That is incredibly unfair, and the only effective way to retaliate against us is for us to redistrict in some ways as vigorously as these hard blue states have done."

Vance hailed President Trump's proposal for a new census that would not include illegal immigrants in apportionment counts, seeing it as a component of a larger effort to restore "spine" to the Republican Party's redistricting battle. Vance remarked, "Thank goodness, we finally see some spine under President Trump's leadership." "The Republican Party is finally showing some resiliency in opposing these extremely aggressive Democratic dirty tricks." However, the only way we can accomplish this is to go out and put in the effort to somewhat reset the scales.

That battle has taken a sharp turn in Texas. In an attempt to thwart a Republican redistricting proposal that would have given the GOP up to five more U.S. House seats, Democrats in the state legislature fled to New York and Illinois. On Friday, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton referred to the Democrats' departure as an "out-of-state rebellion" and requested a judge to declare their seats empty.

Powered by People, a PAC started by Beto O'Rourke, and another organization supported by left-wing billionaire George Soros helped finance the Texas Democrats' escape.

Vance cited further instances of Democratic-led redistricting strategies, such as Illinois' design that eliminated two GOP seats and New York's 2022 post-midterm map that put six of the state's eleven Republican House members in jeopardy.

According to Vance, these conflicts are a part of a larger plan to secure Democratic rule rather than being separate incidents. His advice to Republicans is to either equal their level of hostility or risk being rolled.
