The White House Releases List of Democrats Who Are Fueling Hate Against ICE Agents

Governors Gavin Newsom, JB Pritzker, and Tim Walz were among the thirty Democratic lawmakers listed by the White House for an "unhinged crusade" to defend illegal aliens. The announcement followed a suspect's shooting at an ICE office in Dallas with "ANTI-ICE" engraved ammunition.

The backlash against ICE agents followed years of Democrats vilifying the agency as 'fascists,' 'the Gestapo,' and 'slave patrols,' according to the White House, which blamed the language for a 1,000% increase in assaults on police. California Governor Gavin Newsom has referred to ICE as "authoritarian" and "secret police," while Minnesota Governor Tim Walz has previously referred to ICE as the "modern-day Gestapo" in a speech at the University of Minnesota.

Additionally referenced was Illinois Governor JB Pritzker, who said that ICE agents "grab people off the street and disappear them" and likened the agency to "Nazi Germany." These governors and other Democrats, according to the White House, are "stoking violence to raise their profiles for 2028."

In a scathing statement released Monday, the White House accused 30 Democratic politicians of spreading harmful anti-ICE rhetoric that has a direct link to the increase in violence against federal immigration officials. The announcement came after a suspect used "ANTI-ICE" ammunition in a shooting at an ICE field office in Dallas, Texas.

Three Democratic governors, Tim Walz of Minnesota, JB Pritzker of Illinois, and Gavin Newsom of California, who have long been charged by conservatives with weakening immigration enforcement, were at the top of the list. ICE mentioned Walz's profanity-laced remarks at a commencement address at the University of Minnesota and quoted his words, referring to the agency as "the modern-day Gestapo." According to the press release, Newsom called ICE the "secret police" and exhorted Californians to "push back" against federal forces. Pritzker was singled out for comparing ICE operations to Nazi Germany and for saying that officers "grab people off the street and disappear them."

According to the statement, amid a national trend of attacks on immigration agents, such remarks have transcended political grandstanding and turned into calls for violence. The White House noted that these governors have heightened the rhetoric against President Trump and our federal law enforcement agencies, calling their activities "a cynical effort to boost their national profiles ahead of the 2028 Democrat primary."

Several well-known members of Congress were also on ICE's list, including Hakeem Jeffries, Pramila Jayapal, Ilhan Omar, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Rashida Tlaib. They were accused by the agency of "inflaming public opinion" by publicly calling to "abolish ICE" and verbally attacking immigration enforcement on multiple occasions.

Prominent Democratic senators Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders also received mentions for their years-long criticism of the agency. The statement connected the previous remarks to a broader progressive Democratic agenda that has "demonized the men and women protecting our borders."

In closing, the White House called on Democrats to "stand with the agents who risk their lives defending this nation's sovereignty" and to "end their reckless war on law enforcement."
