As the hunt for the shooter continues, the FBI and Utah authorities have released new photos of a person of interest wanted in connection with the Wednesday shooting death of Charlie Kirk, the founder of the conservative youth activist group Turning Point USA, at an event at Utah Valley University.

On Thursday, the FBI's Salt Lake City office posted two photos of the person, who is wearing sunglasses and a baseball cap, and said, "We are asking for the public's help identifying this person of interest in connection with the fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University" on X. One of the photos captured the person in a stairwell.

The Utah Department of Public Safety released additional images of the person of interest Thursday night. The images depict the person ascending stairs, donning a shirt seemingly adorned with an American flag pattern, and toting a black backpack.

The Utah Department of Public Safety asserts that they captured the screenshots from campus security footage just prior to the shooting incident. According to the FBI, a reward of up to $100,000 is being offered for information that helps identify and apprehend the murderer of Kirk.

Utah Department of Public Safety Commissioner Beau Mason stated on Thursday that authorities have "good video footage of the shooter and have been able to follow his activities."Mason stated that the public will not be able to view the video footage just yet. According to Mason, the suspect entered the Orem campus at 11:52 a.m. on Wednesday and then made his way through the stairwells to the roof of a building close to the location of the outdoor event before shooting Kirk.

According to Mason, the suspect escaped off-campus into a neighborhood after traveling to the opposite side of the structure and jumping over. To find any leads, officials are searching through the surrounding communities, contacting residents who have doorbell cameras, and talking to witnesses, Mason said.

Bohls stated that in addition to finding the weapon, investigators had also gathered forearm, palm, and shoe imprints for examination. The shooting was a "targeted" incident, officials stressed, and they are "exhausting every lead." "We will not stand for what happened yesterday," Mason stated. "We are investing everything we have into the investigation, and we will catch this individual."

Authorities, according to the Utah Department of Public Safety, are actively seeking all potential suspects related to this incident. "I want to be very clear to whoever did this: we will track you down." At a news briefing on Wednesday, Cox referred to the deadly shooting as a "political assassination" and declared, "We will try you, and we will hold you accountable to the farthest extent of the law."

As the manhunt for the culprit continues, the FBI is asking the public for clues and is inviting anyone who has information, images, or video from the incident to share it with agents. As the hunt for the shooting suspect continues, the Utah Department of Public Safety reported that it has received over 200 tips to date.
