President Trump to Sign Executive Order Mandating Voter ID for Every Single Vote

On Saturday, President Donald Trump declared that he will issue an executive order mandating voter identification for each ballot cast in American elections. Trump promised to end massive mail-in voting and require physical votes in a post on Truth Social, stating that there would be "no exceptions" to the directive.

Trump claimed that the existing system is "corrupt" and that only individuals who are "very ill" or serving in the armed forces abroad would be permitted to vote by mail. Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly halted an earlier attempt to establish voter ID by executive order, ruling that Congress, not the president, has the power to make significant changes to election law. The first openly transgender member of Congress, Rep. Sarah McBride (D-DE), charged Trump with an "all-out assault" on democracy for his attempts to do away with mail-in votes and voting machines.

President Donald Trump is getting ready to sign a comprehensive executive order that will require voter identification and outlaw massive mail-in voting in an effort to restore election integrity. Trump stated that voter identification must be included in each and every vote in a Truth Social post on Saturday. ZERO EXCEPTIONS! To that end, I will be issuing an executive order! Additionally, only the really sick and the distant military may vote by mail. ONLY USE PAPER BALLOTS!

According to Trump, mail-in ballots are the main source of corruption in the present voting system, which he has long attacked as having serious flaws. In December 2022, President Trump told Breitbart News, "The system is corrupt, it's not a question of being broken." "A ballot sent in by mail will always be tainted. If they ask for your identity when you go to the polls, you can't actually cast your ballot unless it's a legitimate one.”

He suggested that Democrats should seek to "fix" the system, pointing out that other nations, including France, have given up on widespread mail-in voting. He declared, "Our elections are completely corrupt." Democrats need to wish to address that. They don't because the current situation benefits them. However, the Republicans are forced to correct it.

According to Fox News on Sunday, U.S. District Court Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly partially overturned an earlier Trump executive order that attempted to enforce voter ID, ruling that the president cannot circumvent Congress on such issues. "No statutory delegation of authority to the Executive Branch permits the President to short-circuit Congress's deliberative process by executive order," Kollar-Kotelly stated in her judgment.

Trump's approach has drawn harsh criticism from Democrats. Last month, Rep. Sarah McBride (D-DE) said that Trump's plan to limit absentee voting and eliminate voting machines is "an all-out assault" on democracy. However, Trump has made election integrity a key component of his second term agenda, arguing that these actions are necessary to rebuild confidence in the political process.
