President Trump Puts Politicians of Minnesota Amidst Continued ICE Attacks: “The Insurrection Act is on the Table!”

President Trump is making it clear that he is willing to take drastic measures to restore order if state and local authorities continue to back down as fighting between anti-ICE activists and federal officials escalates in Minnesota.
Trump cautioned that ongoing attacks on Immigration and Customs Enforcement could result in the Insurrection Act being used in a post on Truth Social on Thursday. He said that local authorities have neglected to defend federal officers performing their legal duty.
The warning follows a series of clashes in and around Minneapolis, where protesters have thrown items, encircled ICE cars, and tried to obstruct enforcement efforts because city officials are refusing to work with federal agents. Trump presented the problem in a straightforward manner: Washington will protect federal employees and enforce the law if Minnesota's political elite won't.
Trump wrote, "I will institute the INSURRECTION ACT … and quickly end the travesty in that once-great state if Minnesota's corrupt politicians don't obey the law and stop the professional agitators and insurrectionists from attacking the Patriots of I.C.E., who are just doing their job."
The Insurrection Act must become a part of the main conversation once the enemies—governors, mayors, liberal judges, crooked police commissioners, councils, and unions—expose themselves nationwide as they are currently doing. State officials, such as Rep. Ilhan Omar and Tim Walz, have adopted a combative stance toward ICE, supporting sanctuary-style regulations that restrict collaboration and, according to detractors, encourage disorder at the street level.

Although it is rarely used, the Insurrection Act of 1807 authorizes the president to federalize the National Guard and send active-duty troops to execute federal laws in the event that states are unable to do so. George H. W. Bush last used it during the Los Angeles riots of 1992, when local authorities lost control and violence erupted.
Trump's argument is clear: if Minnesota allows this level of chaos while targeting federal police, it could lead to similar disturbances in other areas. The solution, according to supporters, is to support the rule of law, which the majority of Minnesotans, they claim, secretly want reinstated, rather than demonize Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
To Minnesota's one-party government, the president's message is a warning: defend federal officers and uphold the law, or Washington will do it for you.
