Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman welcomed President Donald Trump to Riyadh Tuesday morning

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman welcomed President Donald Trump to Riyadh Tuesday morning, following a six-jet military escort in the kingdom's skies. Trump is in the area to encourage U.S. investment partnerships and fortify economic connections.

Six Saudi F-15 fighter jets escorted Air Force One for the last half hour of its approach to Riyadh. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman personally welcomed Trump, who also took part in a customary coffee ceremony in Saudi Arabia. Top cabinet members, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, are part of his entourage.

A rare show of military and diplomatic grandeur greeted President Donald Trump upon his arrival in Saudi Arabia Tuesday morning. For the last leg into Riyadh, Air Force One was surrounded by a tight formation of six F-15 fighter jets, three on each side, as it entered Saudi airspace.

In addition to indicating a cordial greeting from Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who personally met Trump on the tarmac, the stirring gesture highlighted the strong relationship Trump developed with the monarchy during his first term.

Trump's deputy chief of staff, Dan Scavino, posted a video of the jet escort in midair, emphasizing the maneuver's military accuracy. As soon as he stepped off Air Force One at King Khalid International Airport, Trump gave a famous fist pump. He then walked with the crown prince on a purple carpet to an indoor welcome ceremony.

Before beginning their private discussions, the two leaders participated in a customary coffee ritual in Saudi Arabia, which stands for hospitality and respect.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Energy Secretary Chris Wright, and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick are among the high-ranking cabinet members in Trump's powerful entourage. The purpose of the group's visit to Saudi Arabia is to strengthen strategic alliances and advance American economic dominance in the area.

Trump's trip coincides with an increase in US investor interest in the Middle East, namely in the areas of infrastructure, energy, and cutting-edge technologies. As part of the region's larger effort to draw in international business and tourists, mobile billboards throughout Riyadh even included advertisements for the recently revealed Disney Abu Dhabi theme park.

Trump is scheduled to speak later Tuesday in front of a group of tech executives that includes Sam Altman, Mark Zuckerberg, and Elon Musk at a significant investment meeting. The Saudi royal family will give a formal state banquet to cap off the day.
