More than 1,000 arrests have been made in Washington, D.C., since President Donald Trump federalized the city's police department, Attorney General Pam Bondi said Monday. Bondi said that as part of Trump's effort to "make D.C. safe again," the crackdown had removed dangerous criminals, including gang members, from the streets and collected more than 100 illegal firearms.

Bondi said on social media on Monday that "more than 1,000 arrests and more than 100 illegal guns" had been taken into custody. He also mentioned that 86 people had been arrested on Sunday night alone, including a suspected Tren de Aragua gang member and suspects who were accused of attacking police.

One person on social media expressed gratitude for the operation, writing, "Thank you for keeping D.C. safe! I can't even remember how many times I was unable to walk because it wasn't safe.” “Hi Fives!! Makes one realize just how bad things were!!

President Trump thanked police officers and National Guard soldiers for their efforts on Thursday by delivering pizza and hamburgers to them. After celebrating and having a little fun, Trump stated, "We're going to get back to work and take care of these criminals and put them where they have to be."

As President Trump's law-and-order program takes hold in the nation's capital, Attorney General Pam Bondi said Monday that over 1,000 individuals had been detained in Washington, D.C. Over 100 illicit firearms were confiscated, and more than 1,000 people were arrested. An additional 86 people were arrested last night, including a suspected Tren de Aragua gang member and many individuals accused of attacking the National Guard and police officers. We are restoring D.C.'s safety every day of our mission," Bondi said on social media.

Bondi's report was well received by the locals. According to one customer, they had long been compelled to hire a vehicle service for short journeys as it was too dangerous to walk about the city. Another individual added, "All we needed was an administration that cared," highlighting the dissatisfaction that many residents have voiced over years of escalating violence under Democratic government.

During a pause in operations Thursday night, President Trump personally thanked law officers by providing them with meals. Trump remarked, "We're going to have a little fun, we're going to celebrate, then we're going to get back to work and we're going to take care of these criminals and we're going to put them where they have to be… don't play around with us," when addressing the officers and Guardsmen in attendance.

Since Trump federalized the police force, crime in Washington has already drastically decreased. According to statistics from the Metropolitan Police Department, Breitbart News reported on Friday that when comparing the last 11 days of Trump's crackdown to the previous 11 days, there had been "substantial double-digit percentage drops" in a number of categories.

The outcomes are being used by Trump, who ran on a platform of bringing safety back to American cities, as evidence that his strategy works. Bondi stated that the work is far from finished.
