On Thursday, President Trump walked the streets of Washington, D.C. with police and National Guard troops. He praised their efforts in the federal-led crime crackdown and promised that the city will soon be "spotless" and "the best in the world."

Trump spoke with federal agents, Guard soldiers, and MPD officers and stated that D.C. is already showing "incredible results." He pledged that the capital would be "maxed out in terms of beauty and public safety within a year.” He said that the crackdown was connected to improvements in the city, such as new roads and parks.

Since the federal takeover on August 7, there have been 630 arrests, including 251 people who are thought to be illegal immigrants. 86 illicit guns have also been taken. "We're not playing games," Trump assured the police. We're going to make it safe.

On Thursday, President Donald Trump strolled inside a Park Police operations center in D.C.'s Anacostia neighborhood. There, he stood shoulder to shoulder with police officers, National Guard soldiers, and federal agents who were on the front lines of his crime campaign in the capital. It was plain what he meant: Washington is being taken back.

"It's like a whole new city." "It's the capital, and it's going to be the best in the world," Trump told the police who were there. He praised their efforts for what he termed "incredible results" only a few weeks into the operation. He stated, "You take care of safety, and I'll fix up this place physically." He spoke of fixing the roads, adding new medians, and restoring the parks. "At the end of six months, or maybe a year, this place will be as beautiful as it can get." People will comment, "Wow, this place is clean."

Trump made the unusual decision to put the Metropolitan Police Department under federal authority this month. He sent hundreds of agents from the FBI, DEA, ATF, and U.S. Marshals Service to work with the National Guard. Mayor Muriel Bowser and Police Chief Pamela Smith both complained about the decision, which was prompted by a string of high-profile crimes and claims of fake crime statistics. However, both agreed that more police were required to fight the violence.

The figures have already changed. Since the increase on August 7, 630 people have been arrested, 251 of them are thought to be illegal immigrants. Officers also took 86 illicit guns. Trump said that the operation would keep on. He responded, "We want to make this perfect." "You have to be strong, tough, and do your job no matter what."

Trump also said that the crackdown was part of a larger effort to improve cities. He said he would be in charge of new road, turf, and park projects as soon as Congress gives him the money. He promised that parks all throughout D.C. would look like the ones at his golf clubs. Trump said, "The grass here died about 40 years ago." "We're going to fix up all of your parks, and it's going to happen quickly. "It's going to go up like magic."

The president ended the visit by distributing hamburgers and pizza to the police who work for him. This drove home his point that taking back the capital is both a law-and-order mission and a personal one.
