Illegal Alien Population Takes a Record 2.2 Million Drop According to New Research

According to a new study, President Trump has reduced the number of illegal immigrants by an estimated 1.6 million since January, as part of a historic 2.2 million decline in foreign-born residents.

According to CIS researchers Steven Camarota and Karen Zeigler, the number of foreign-born people in the United States decreased by 2.2 million between January and July, the greatest six-month drop in recorded history.

According to the research, the illegal alien population decreased by around 10%, from 15.8 million to 14.2 million. Non-citizens accounted for the whole reduction, while the number of naturalized citizens increased somewhat.

According to the survey, recent job growth has been largely absorbed by native-born Americans, with analysts expecting that fewer illegal workers will raise earnings for US-born and legal immigrant workers. President Donald Trump's immigration policies have resulted in an "astonishing" fall in the U.S. foreign-born population — particularly among illegal aliens — in just half a year.

The Center for Immigration Studies' (CIS) study of Bureau of Labor Statistics' Current Population Survey data reveals a cumulative loss of 2.2 million foreign-born residents between January and July, the greatest decline ever recorded in such a short period of time. According to researchers Steven Camarota and Karen Zeigler, 1.6 million of the fall, or nearly 10%, is due to a shrinking illegal alien population, which has dropped to an estimated 14.2 million.

The labor market appears to be altering as a result. Recent job figures reveal that native-born Americans have accounted for all recent job gains, while foreign-born employment has decreased. "While employers may be unhappy with a decline in illegal immigrant workers, reducing the supply of labor is likely to be very helpful to less-educated U.S.-born and legal-immigrant workers, whose wages may rise as a result," the study's authors concluded. They argued that greater earnings could entice millions of working-age American males without college degrees to return to the labor force.

The substantial decrease follows what Trump officials describe as a massive flood of illegal immigration during Joe Biden's administration. Over four years, Biden's government is reported to have permitted or assisted the entry of around 8 million migrants, many of whom were illegal, establishing a record and reversing previous enforcement efforts.

According to the CIS analysis, Trump's enhanced enforcement tactics, along with tighter border controls and higher removals, are reversing the trend, significantly reducing the illegal population while increasing job prospects for American workers.

In just seven months, President Trump secured the border, expanded ICE to the size of most of the world's militaries, achieved negative net migration for the first time in 50 years, and reduced the foreign-born population by 2.2 million.
