DNC Paid Thousands to Former Biden DOJ Directing the Bragg Case Against President Trump

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) previously paid Matthew Colangelo, a lead prosecutor in the case against President Trump, for "political advice." Colangelo joined Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's staff after resigning from a key position at the Biden Justice Department and making opening remarks in Trump's criminal trial.

The DNC gave Colangelo two payments of $6,000 in 2018, for a total of $12,000, according to Federal Election Commission documents. Colangelo was working for then-New York Attorney General Eric Scheiderman as the deputy attorney general for social justice at the time of the payments. As executive deputy attorney general, Colangelo sued the Trump Foundation many months after receiving the money.
