What Causes Maskne?

The main cause of maskne is generally clogged pores. Because we already have a combination of dead skin cells, oil, and bacteria on our skin, wearing a mask causes these particles to build up and block the pores of the skin. Additionally, sensitivity to the material of the face mask, and humidity which is trapped inside of the mask from breathing may create maskne breakouts.
