DHS Uncovers Widespread Immigration Fraud in Ilhan Omar’s District

According to a DHS study, over half of migrant households in Minneapolis were involved in some kind of immigration fraud. According to officials, the results reveal serious risks to American individuals, the integrity of the immigration system, and national security.
Nearly half of migrant households in Minneapolis committed fraud against U.S. citizens, according to a DHS poll. Authorities discovered document forgeries, overstays of visas, marriage fraud, and misuse of work and student visa programs. Several phony marriages, terrorism connections, and the exploitation of weaker Americans were among the cases.
President Trump's U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) head, Joseph Edlow, made the announcement of the results, which show a concerning pattern of dishonesty threatening the immigration system.
"Officers found numerous inconsistencies, including obvious marriage fraud, visa overstay, individuals claiming to work at unidentified companies, falsified documents, misuse of the F-1 [student] visa, misuse of the H-1B [white-collar] visa system, and many more," Edlow stated.
DHS reports that since September 19, more than 1,000 site visits have been made by fraud detection agents in the Minneapolis-St. Paul region, focusing on more than 900 people who may have engaged in fraudulent activities. Investigators were astonished by what they found.
In one instance, a foreigner who had overstayed his visa was connected to a terrorism suspect on the no-fly list. He was eventually caught and deported after attempting marriage fraud. Another immigrant paid only $100 for a fake death certificate that claimed he was no longer married, despite having one wife in Minneapolis with five children and another in Sweden with three more.
Additionally, investigators apprehended a migrant who had been allowed entry into the country by the border patrol of former President Biden and who then arranged a fictitious marriage with a U.S. national. When investigators visited the location the same day after both parties claimed the marriage was genuine during an interview, the American spouse retracted her petition and acknowledged it was a fake.
Another unsettling example was a foreigner who used marriage fraud to mislead and mistreat an elderly American citizen, putting the victim in terror even after family members assisted in obtaining a divorce.
According to Edlow, "These are not victimless crimes." "Every instance of fraud we find jeopardizes the integrity of our immigration system, harms our national security, and has actual repercussions, as I just demonstrated."
Critics point out that the Biden administration prioritized increased migrant access to benefits while mainly ignoring indications of immigration fraud. Meanwhile, Minneapolis, which is home to a sizable Somali immigrant population and is represented in Congress by Democrat Ilhan Omar, has turned into a hotbed of abuse of this kind.
Officials are currently trying to strengthen admission requirements and citizenship exams to ensure that immigrants understand the obligations of American citizenship, not just its advantages. If a migrant is detected lying, they might be deported.
