A recent article in The Hill revealed: “The House committee investigating Jan. 6 sent letters to 35 different telecommunications and social media companies Monday, asking them to retain records of those who may have been involved in the attack on the Capitol — a group that likely includes lawmakers.” It’s no surprise that among the companies which will be recipients of this letter includes Facebook, Twitter, and Google; major contributors to the election of Joe Biden!

According to The Epoch Times, also included in the list of companies the committee are requesting records from were “4chan, 8kun, Gab, Parler, Reddit, Snapchat, Telegram, theDonald.win, TikTok, Twitch, YouTube, and Zello.” According to a press release from the select committee, Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.) gave companies two weeks to provide “information including records related to the spread of misinformation, efforts to overturn the 2020 election or prevent certification of the results, domestic violent extremism, and foreign influence in the 2020 election.”

The House Committee’s sweeping request also included archived communications from the Trump White House.

In a statement, President Trump said: “The Leftist “select committee” has further exposed itself as a partisan sham and waste of taxpayer dollars with a request that’s timed to distract Americans from historic and global catastrophes brought on by the failures of Joe Biden and the Democrats. Unfortunately, this partisan exercise is being performed at the expense of long-standing legal principles of privilege. Executive privilege will be defended, not just on behalf of my Administration and the Patriots who worked beside me, but on behalf of the Office of the President of the United States and the future of our Nation. These Democrats only have one tired trick—political theater—and their latest request only reinforces that pathetic reality.”
