What Are the Polls Saying About American Support for Mass Deportation?

Two-thirds of Americans support deporting illegal immigrants, according to a Fox News poll released Thursday. Along with changing opinions on U.S. foreign policy, such as support for Israel and Ukraine, the poll also shows the widening gap between Republicans and Democrats on immigration policy.
The poll shows that 66% of people favor deporting illegal immigrants, a position that has increased by 15 percentage points since 2015, with notable increases among Republicans, nonwhite voters, and rural Americans.
The poll reveals a reduction in support, particularly among Republicans, who have fallen 28 points in favor of letting undocumented immigrants who have jobs to remain and apply for legal status over the previous ten years.
Voters' top concerns continue to be the economy (40%), immigration (17%), followed by abortion (15%). Regarding immigration, Trump now leads Harris by 15 points, up from a 10-point margin in September.
