According to a recent InsiderAdvantage poll, President Trump's approval rating jumped to 54% after his meeting with Vladimir Putin in Alaska. In stark contrast to Joe Biden's track record of weakness both domestically and internationally, the post-summit advances demonstrate voters' desire for strong leadership.
Trump now has a majority of support across all age groups, with the exception of the oldest voters, according to an InsiderAdvantage poll taken over the weekend. With 54 percent of the population approving and 44 percent disapproving, he has a net rating of +10.
Minority support grew, with 47.2 percent of Hispanic voters and 23.7 percent of Black voters expressing satisfaction with Trump's performance. At 64 percent, white voter approval is almost at a record high. While 50.4 percent of independents and almost 18 percent of Democrats say they are satisfied with Trump's performance, Republicans still support him 92 percent of the time.
Over the weekend, following his high-profile peace conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska, President Donald Trump's approval ratings skyrocketed. An InsiderAdvantage survey indicates that Americans now approve of Trump's job performance at a rate of 54%, which is a significant increase from the 50% approval level in July. He now has a net approval rating of +10 percent, up from just +2 percent a month ago, as the percentage of people who disapprove dropped to 44 percent.
Matt Towery, a pollster, attributed the increase to widespread gains among voters. In line with our previous polls, Towery stated on Monday that only the oldest voters in the country were unhappy with his work performance. "His approval ratings are generally increasing after the summit."
President Trump is gaining support from voter categories that have historically been challenging for Republicans, according to the survey data. Hispanic support increased to 47.2 percent, while his favor rating among Black voters reached 23.7 percent. Trump's support among white voters, meanwhile, rose to 64 percent, one of the highest percentages seen in recent memory.
Trump is trying to broaden his coalition beyond the Republican base, and 50.4 percent of independents said they support him. Nearly 18 percent of Democrats rated him favorably, and 92 percent of Republicans support him inside his party.
Trump himself hailed the summit as a victory, telling reporters that he had made "great progress" during his meeting with Putin. The Russian president repeated that sentiment, emphasizing that "had Trump been president in 2022 instead of Joe Biden, the war in Ukraine would never have started."
Trump's direct interaction with Putin seems to be gaining support from skeptics rather than harming him politically. According to the polls, Americans think President Trump is providing them with the clarity and firmness they desire in foreign policy.
