PROTESTERS MARCH FOR CLEANER EARTH – THEN TRASH THE PLACE
There is a saying that you practice what you preach. However, it seems this ‘law’ is only applicable to a select group of people.
When a group of environmentalists gathered to protest against an unclean earth and clamor for a neater universe, you’d be thinking the venue of such a protest would be as clean as heaven. That wasn’t to be. In fact, the reverse was the case as they turned the venue to a dump ground upon departure.
Protesters who gathered to take part in a ‘climate march’ in Washington DC on Saturday left the place in a messy state. As the protesters vacated the venue, the Washington mall was left filled with garbage and signs.
The ‘People’s Climate Change March’ was organized to sensitize people on the need for a cleaner earth and to urge President Trump’s administration to invest in policies that will fight climate change. A resident of Washington DC who lives very close to the site of the ‘climate march’ told Heat Street that he was taken aback by the “giant piles of signs and trash” left behind by the protesters. Many who reside around Washington DC and its environs took to social media to register their displeasure.
A certain Charlie Kirk (@charliekirk11) posted on twitter “That awkward moment when #climatemarch protestors litter and contribute to the very thing they are fighting against”
After the protests, some of the protesters left their signs under trees; some threw theirs along buildings, while others wrapped them up in a corner. It would not be out of place to describe the set of environmentalists who took part in the ‘climate march’ as a bunch of hypocrites and people who have misplaced their priority.
