DNC Lawyer in Trump-Russia Scandal Charged With Lying to the FBI

Michael Sussman, an attorney who specializes in cybersecurity and a former federal prosecutor was indicted for allegedly lying to the FBI in a conversation about ties between Donald Trump and Russia, according to a NPR report

Sussmann is the second person who has been charged in John Durham’s investigation into the origins of the FBI’s Trump Russia probe. On September 19, 2016, in a conversation with FBI general counsel Jim Baker, Sussmann shared information about ties between a Kremlin-linked Russian lender, Alfa Bank, and a computer server at the Trump Organization. Sussmann’s indictment alleges that he “lied about the capacity in which he was providing the allegations to the FBI,” according to the NPR “Morning Edition” broadcast.

The allegations brought against Sussmann, a former prosecutor who worked for a law firm with longstanding ties to the Democrat party, appears to be another case of “catching the small fish” while the big ones continue to get away! The only other individual who has been charged in the Trump-Russia Probe is a former low-level FBI attorney named Kevin Clinesmith, who was actually given a one year suspension which has since expired.

At this point, we must ask the question: “Was the Durham Report just a distraction or perhaps a way to find low-level perpetrators of the Trump-Russia scandal to take the fall?”
