Did the CDC Just Admit that Hospital Incentives Influenced COVID-19 Death Rates?
All around the country patients who are admitted into once-trusted hospitals for COVID-19 have become imprisoned within a vicious cycle of hospital protocols.. According to a Citizens Journal report, “Upon admission to a once-trusted hospital, American patients with COVID-19 become virtual prisoners, subjected to a rigid treatment protocol with roots in Ezekiel Emanuel’s “Complete Lives System” for rationing medical care in those over age 50.”
Since its very beginning the coronavirus pandemic has been riddled with inconsistencies in the reporting of COVID cases with some doctors being pressured to list COVID-19 on death certificates, even in cases where it may not be the primary cause of death.
Adding to the dilemma, hospitals were paid $13,000 per person admitted as a COVID case, and another $39,000 for every patient put on a ventilator. Even the director of the CDC has recently admitted that hospital incentives drove up COVID-19 death rates. As a result, we now have government-dedicated medical care since the federal government mandated these ineffective and dangerous hospital protocols for hospitals and doctors to use only those approved (and paid for) approaches.
According to a report compiled by the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons, the incentives associated with COVID-19 has created a “combination that enables this tragic and avoidable loss of hundreds of thousands of lives includes (1) The CARES Act, which provides hospitals with bonus incentive payments for all things related to COVID-19 (testing, diagnosing, admitting to hospital, use of remdesivir and ventilators, reporting COVID-19 deaths, and vaccinations) and (2) waivers of customary and long-standing patient rights by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).”
It appears that we are seeing a pandemic inflated by incentives to hospitals and businesses. With omicron in our wakes, Congress is already calling for more incentives for hospitals which may very well serve as an incentive for yet more inflated numbers and cases.
