Left-wing Media and Democrats Set to Create Fear-mongering Narrative Surrounding Omicron

MSN, a network promoting Main-Stream Nonsense, released a report ahead of Biden’s plans to speak about the omicron variant on Dec. 21. Quoting various other left-wing media networks, the report noted: “The average number of COVID-19 cases in the U.S. is up 26% over the past two weeks, and hospitalizations climbed 3% in the past week — all with the Omicron variant representing just 3% of cases. But Omicron is well on its way to becoming the dominant strain of the virus in the U.S. The number of states with Omicron COVID cases rose to 41 this week, Elise Preston reports for "CBS Saturday Morning.

Even the “fox in the hen house,” Fox News, is chiming in on the fear-mongering narrative with a recent report alleging: “In just a matter of weeks, cases of the omicron COVID-19 variant have been detected in countries around the world – including the U.S. – forcing health leaders to take action,” while quoting Anthony Fauci and the World Health Organization as credible sources on the omicron variant.

While there are only a few hundred known cases of the “new omicron covid virus,” the fear mongers on the left are in full motion to promote the narrative that we are all doomed! Yet, the African doctor, Dr. Angelique Coetzee, who raised the alarm about the omicron variant describes its symptoms as “unusual but mild,” according to a UK Science and Disease article

Adding to the hysteria surrounding the narrative, here’s what the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) can tell you about Omicron:

  • How easily does Omicron spread? The Omicron variant likely will spread more easily than the original SARS-CoV-2 virus and how easily Omicron spreads compared to Delta remains unknown. CDC expects that anyone with Omicron infection can spread the virus to others, even if they are vaccinated or don’t have symptoms.

  • Will Omicron cause more severe illness? More data are needed to know if Omicron infections, and especially reinfections and breakthrough infections in people who are fully vaccinated, cause more severe illness or death than infection with other variants.

  • Will vaccines work against Omicron? Current vaccines are expected to protect against severe illness, hospitalizations, and deaths due to infection with the Omicron variant. However, breakthrough infections in people who are fully vaccinated are likely to occur. With other variants, like Delta, vaccines have remained effective at preventing severe illness, hospitalizations, and death. The recent emergence of Omicron further emphasizes the importance of vaccination and boosters.

  • Will treatments work against Omicron? Scientists are working to determine how well existing treatments for COVID-19 work. Based on the changed genetic make-up of Omicron, some treatments are likely to remain effective while others may be less effective.

The question we must all ask ourselves is: “Will we allow a fear-mongering narrative to close our eyes to what’s really going on here?
