Left-wing Activist Linda Sarsour Calls for 'Jihad' Against President Donald Trump’s Administration

Linda Sarsour, the controversial Islamic activist, has called for a “jihad” and urged the Muslim community to unite against the Trump administration.    She made this declaration in her address at the Annual Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) convention held in Chicago this past weekend.

In her controversial statement, Sarsour urged Muslim-Americans’ to take decisive steps against people in power.  She also called for them to make protecting and defending their communities a thing of concern.
"Why, sisters and brothers, why are we so unprepared.  Why are we so afraid of this administration and the potential chaos that they will ensue on our community?” she said.

“I hope, that when we stand up to those who oppress our communities, that Allah accepts from us, that as a form of jihad, that we are struggling against tyrants and rulers not only abroad in the Middle East or the other side of the world, but here in these United States of America, where you have fascists and white supremacists and Islamophobes reining in the White House,” she said.

Sarsour, 37, has come under severe criticism by many who feel she is an attention seeker.  The left-wing political activist narrated a story from the Islamic Holy book about a man who asked Prophet Muhammad, the founder of Islam, “What is the best form of jihad, or struggle?

However, the former executive director of the Arab American Association of New York has denied claims that she was inciting violence with her remarks. “For people to out of nowhere claim that I would be calling for some sort of violence against the president is absolutely ludicrous,” Sarsour told newsmen.  “That’s just not who I am.  That’s never been who I am.”
“Jihad” in an Islamic context means a contest or struggle against the enemies of the religion.
