NYC Democrat Mayor Arrested for Assaulting ICE Agents

When New York City Comptroller Brad Lander assaulted Department of Homeland Security (DHS) officers on Tuesday, agents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detained him, according to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), which was reported to the Daily Caller.
According to Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin, who spoke with the Caller, "New York City Comptroller Brad Lander was arrested for assaulting law enforcement and impeding a federal officer."
"It is immoral for politicians seeking higher office to endanger the safety of law enforcement for the sake of gaining viral attention." Our brave ICE law enforcement agents are facing a 413% rise in the number of assaults against them. "There is no one who is above the law, and if you try to touch a law enforcement officer, you will be held accountable for your actions," she came to the conclusion.
Lander's wife alleged that he was present at the Midtown Manhattan courthouse to accompany a defendant as they left immigration court. In Manhattan, a group of predominantly white anti-ICE protesters and Black and Hispanic pro-cop demonstrators came into conflict with one another.
“Do you possess a warrant issued by the court?” According to a video that was taken by Lander's wife, Lander, who is running for mayor in the Democratic primary in New York, asked ICE agents as they pulled him through a busy hallway.
During the process of handcuffing him, Lander reiterated, "You do not have the authority to arrest citizens of the United States."
"Hello, my name is Meg Barnette, and I am Brad's wife."
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) seized Brad while he was escorting a defendant out of immigration court at 26 Federal Plaza. The agents were wearing masks.
At present, the case is still in progress, and our staff is closely monitoring the current situation.
In the ongoing fight against immigration, Lander is the most recent in a long line of Democrats who have been detained. In the month of May, the Democratic Mayor of Newark, New Jersey, Ras Baraka, was held by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for trespassing at an ICE detention center and ignoring several instructions to leave.
Baraka was arrested on the same day that prosecutors indicted Democratic Representative LaMonica McIver of New Jersey for assaulting and obstructing immigration authorities. The indictment was handed down at the beginning of June.
The most recent incident that caused Democratic California Senator Alex Padilla to become widely known was when members of the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) and the Secret Service took him out of a news conference. Padilla had approached Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security Kristi Noem while wearing plain clothes and shouting.
During a recent simulation of the city's ranked-choice Democratic primary, the Manhattan Institute found that Lander is a significant distance behind the frontrunner, Andrew Cuomo, who was a previous Democratic governor of New York.
Additionally, he is a long way behind Zohran Mahdani, a self-proclaimed socialist who is a member of the Democratic Party and represents New York State. Mahdani received thirty percent of the votes in the first round of the simulation. Cuomo is currently in the lead with 43 percent in the first round, while Mahdani is only a few spots behind him.
According to the simulation, Lander is positioned in fourth place in the ranked-choice polls with a percentage of six percent in the first round. This places her just behind Adrienne Adams, who garnered seven percent of the responses.
The Daily Caller attempted to contact Lander's campaign for a comment, but they did not respond by the time the publication was published.
