Immigration and Customs Enforcement Arrests More Violent Criminal Illegal Aliens in Sanctuary Cities

Despite continued opposition from left-leaning local governments, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers detained a number of criminal illegal aliens in sanctuary cities this week.

On May 15, ICE officers arrested violent criminal illegal aliens with severe criminal histories in sanctuary cities, including Boston, Newark, Philadelphia, and Los Angeles. Among those apprehended were gang-affiliated criminals, including MS-13 members, and previously deported felons. Politicians in sanctuary cities came under fire from DHS leadership for obstructing federal immigration enforcement and endangering Americans.

Violent illegal immigrants with lengthy criminal histories were arrested as a result of coordinated operations conducted by federal agents with ICE in many sanctuary communities on May 15. Federal agents apprehended Manuel Seberiano Garcia-Munoz, a 32-year-old Mexican national who had already been deported but had entered the country illegally again. He was arrested once more in Boston after being found guilty of assault with a deadly weapon and given a four-year prison sentence.

Another arrest was made in Everett, Massachusetts, when Jose Reyes Alvarez, a suspected MS-13 gang member and 28-year-old Salvadoran national, was arrested. Despite his initial arrest for driving without a license, federal investigators were alarmed by his connection to the infamous transnational gang. ICE's Los Angeles division then took him into custody.

Oscar Juracan, a 32-year-old Guatemalan illegal alien convicted of aggravated sexual assault during a robbery, was arrested by ICE officials in Newark in the meantime. Juracan is currently in ICE detention pending deportation after serving seven years in jail, according to DHS.

Authorities in Philadelphia apprehended Tito Flores-Gonzalez, a 27-year-old Mexican national with a history of two prior voluntary deportations. He had been arrested by Delaware State Police on January 15 and had just been found guilty of attempted kidnapping, terroristic threats, and harassment.

Tricia McLaughlin, assistant secretary of homeland security, denounced the continued obstruction by sanctuary city leaders. McLaughlin told Just the News, "These sanctuary politicians are using American lives as a game of Russian roulette." The protection of the American people should come above that of criminal, illegal aliens, according to radical sanctuary lawmakers. No American, including our representatives, should let criminal, illegal aliens roam the streets of the United States.
