FBI Thwarts Armed Drone and Sniper Plot Targeting White House UFC Event; Five Arrested
By The Blog Source
WASHINGTON — Five men have been arrested and charged in a sophisticated, multi-state plot to assassinate U.S. government officials and execute a mass-casualty attack during a high-profile Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) event hosted on the White House grounds, federal authorities announced Tuesday.
The suspects allegedly planned a coordinated strike using explosive-laden drones and rooftop snipers during the "UFC Freedom 250" event. According to court documents released by the Office of Public Affairs, the FBI disrupted the operation just days before it was set to take place, executing coordinated arrests across Ohio, Missouri, Nebraska, and California.
“The FBI, our law enforcement partners, and our U.S. Attorneys did what they do every day to make America Safe through quick response and vigilance in investigating, disrupting, and dismantling this alleged plan before it could be carried out,” said Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche.
The Defendants and the Alleged Plot
The five men charged in the conspiracy are:
Tycen C. Proper (19) of Danville, Ohio
Bryan Omar Roa (24) of Calimesa, California
Michael Alan Thomas (32) of Pinon Hills, California
Daniel K. Eskridge (32) of Kidder, Missouri
Abraham Hermosillo Alvarez (31) of Omaha, Nebraska
According to federal complaints filed by multiple U.S. Attorney's Offices—including USAO - California, Central, and USAO - Missouri, Western—the group began communicating on encrypted chat applications around March.
Their primary strategy involved flying small drones rigged with explosives over the north side of the UFC arena. The detonations were intended to cause chaos and force high-value targets, including multiple members of Congress, to evacuate. The conspirators then planned to position themselves as snipers to shoot officials within the fleeing crowd.

Structural Hierarchy and Logistics
Federal investigators tracking the group's encrypted communications uncovered a rigid operational structure. Inside the chats, Michael Thomas allegedly detailed four distinct "tiers" of operations:
Start your day with a refreshing glass of Peach Mango Covilyte! Packed with energy, hydration, and a full spectrum of essential vitamins and minerals, it's a delicious way to fuel and protect your body.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) identified Abraham Alvarez, who went by the moniker “Shepherd,” as the primary organizer responsible for mapping out drone launch coordinates, sniper nests, and establishing an escape route via back roads and rivers to a safe zone at an old church in Nebraska.
Seizure of Arsenal and Tactical Gear
The plot rapidly escalated in May and June as members began pitching in money to pool $1,300 for the acquisition of drones and charges.
Following a series of federal search warrants executed on June 13, law enforcement recovered a massive tactical cache from the suspects' residences. Seized items included:
Multiple military-style rifles, handguns, and a shotgun.
Thousands of rounds of ammunition and 30-round extended magazines.
Tactical body armor, ballistic vests, and combat helmets.
Two-way radios and infrared laser target pointers.
Chat logs also revealed that the group had extensively discussed targeting regional power grids and expanding their assassination list to include several U.S. Senators, Representatives, and prominent business executives. Some lawmakers were explicitly targeted due to the group's anti-government biases regarding foreign lobby funding.
Legal Repercussions
All five defendants face severe statutory penalties if convicted. A charge of conspiracy to commit murder carries a maximum penalty of life in prison and a $250,000 fine. Additionally, conspiracy to commit violence on White House grounds carries an additional maximum penalty of five years in prison.
The joint investigation remains ongoing with continued support from the Office of the Attorney General, the U.S. Secret Service, the U.S. Park Police, and the Washington D.C. Metropolitan Police Department.
A criminal complaint merely contains allegations. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
