City Councillor of Ottawa Seeks Lawsuit to Seize GoFundMe Funds Raised by the Freedom Convoy
The Freedom Convoy, in its efforts to keep truckers provisioned during their occupation of Ottawa, as of Monday Jan. 31,has raised almost $10 million in GoFundMe donations and contributions. According to an InfoWars report, “Mathieu Fleury, Ottawa City Councillor of Rideau-Vanier Ward, announced Monday his intention to seize the Freedom Convoy’s funds.” Fleury tweeted Monday (Jan. 31) “This morning, I have asked the city manager and city solicitor to immediately launch court proceedings targeting the millions of dollars in funds frozen by @GoFundMe so Ottawa taxpayers are not left holding the bag for these protests,” according to the report.
With some 120,000 and growing semi trucks now occupying Canada’s capital demanding the lift of all COVID restrictions, including vaccine mandates; Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has fled Ottawa to an undisclosed location while cowardly condemning the Freedom Convoy’s efforts as “violent” and “hateful.”
