President Trump Files Lawsuit Against NY AG Letitia James Over Rights Violations
According to a Dec. 20 report by the Gateway Pundit, “New York Attorney General Letitia James has been involved in an ongoing two year probe into the business dealings of President Trump. Now, Trump’s lawyers are arguing that she has violated his constitutional rights with the investigation.”
The suit argues that the inquiry is politically motivated. One report from the New York Times quoted Trump’s lawyer's complaint: “Her mission is guided solely by political animus and a desire to harass, intimidate, and retaliate against a private citizen who she views as a political opponent.” The lawsuit was filed in federal court in upstate Syracuse New York and asks the judge to intervene and stop the investigation.
According to Slay News, “The lawsuit also seeks to enjoin James’ involvement in any civil or criminal actions against Trump or his company.”
“By filing this lawsuit, we intend to not only hold her accountable for her blatant constitutional violations but to stop her bitter crusade to punish her political opponent in its tracks,” Trump’s attorney, Alina Habba, said.
Habba added: “Letitia James targets President Trump with a callous disregard for the ethical and moral obligations she swore to abide by when she became Attorney General.”
