California Parents and Teachers Gear Up for Statewide Walkout in Protest of Vaccine Mandates
After Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsome imposed new mandate rules, California parents and teachers in opposition of school vaccine mandates planned a statewide walkout, according to a recent report by Patriot America. California was the first state to mandate vaccinations or coronavirus testing requirements for children to attend in-person classes at public and private schools after Gavin Newsome signed the new requirement on Oct. 1. The requirement also applies to teachers and staff.
However, parents and concerned citizens of the planned walkout refuse to comply! Social media is abuzz with many parents and teachers suggesting that parents pull their children out of school and that teachers and staff who support the protest stay home, according to reports. On Friday residents against the mandate held a rally in Redding where signs could be seen with slogans such as “My Body, My Choice,” “Teach freedom,” “Stop the mandate” and “Support parents choice.”
According to The USA Tribune Media, one protester Katie Gorman told the newspaper that the walkout was just the beginning, adding: "We can go further and we can take our rights and our responsibilities to educate our own children in the end and we can make that happen as a community."
California should definitely be a wakeup call for the rest of America, as questions about the efficacy and safety of the COVID-19 vaccine continue to surface.
