Loretta Lynch to be investigated for trying to interfere with the Clinton email probe

The “hens are coming in to nest!”  In other words, news about the possible investigation of Loretta Lynch concerning her alleged involvement in the Clinton email probe is long overdue.  Who can forget that weird meeting that Bill Clinton had with her on tarmac the during the 2016 Presidential campaign?

Former attorney general Loretta Lynch will be taking a trip to the hot seat, it appears.  Friday, the Senate Judiciary Committee leaders mentioned that they are seeking information about Lynch’s alleged efforts to interfere with the FBI’s investigation of Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server while she was Secretary of State.

And here is a connection that should not surprise us at all; former FBI director James Comey was in charge of the FBI investigation of the Clinton email probe.  I smell a leak!  Mr. “I need to get that out into the public square”, is in the midst of this one as well.

In addition to the bipartisan inquiry directed at Lynch, Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, and California Sen. Dianne Feistein sent a letter to Lynch this week requesting information.  Adding further weight to the inquiry, Sens. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., chairman of the Crime and Terrorism Subcommittee, and Sheldon Whitehouse of Rhode Island, the subcommittee’s senior Democrat joined into the inquiry about Lynch’s involvement.

A statement was released by Grassley and Graham Friday from the committee, citing an April story that was reported by liberal media, reporting that the FBI came into possession of a batch of hacked documents, including one that was authored by a “Democratic operative who expressed confidence that Ms. Lynch would keep the Clinton investigation from going too far.”  That story sparked Grassley to request a copy of the document from the Justice Department, which he said never responded to his request.

Another main stream media source reported a month later that the email had been sent by Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla., in her former role as the chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee, to Leonard Benardo of the Open Society Foundation, founded by mega-donor and businessman George Soros.  Ok, here is the connection: That email indicated that Lynch had privately assured Clinton campaign staffer Amanda Renteria that the FBI’s investigation wouldn’t “go too far.”  This definitely sounds scandalous!

This story is going to be a very interesting one to follow.  It was alleged that Comey was reportedly concerned that the communication would raise doubts about the investigation’s independence and began discussing plans to announce the end of the Clinton email investigation rather than simply referring it to the Department of Justice for a prosecutorial decision, as reported by the Senate Judiciary Committee.

The Senate Judiciary Committee noted that Comey’s extraordinary action to announce the end of the investigation was a break from Justice Department protocol, and was later cited as justification by the White House for his removal from the FBI.

Interestingly, the leaker himself, Comey testified before the Senate intelligence Committee that he had a “troubling exchange" with then-attorney general Lynch about the Clinton email investigation.

Folks we are in for a scandal that is sure to make for a riveting TV episode. Stay tuned.
