SHOT CHICAGO POLICE OFFICERS RELEASED FROM HOSPITAL

The two undercover Chicago police officers shot on Tuesday night have been released from hospital.  The duos were discharged on Wednesday.

Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson revealed that the officers were doing quite well.  The two officers are victims of what is believed to be a targeted attack.  It was disclosed that two vehicles pulled up beside their car before those inside started aiming shots sporadically.  One suffered wounds to the arm and hip and the other sustained injuries to the back.  Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said, “We believe that the officers were definitely targeted."  The Back of the Yards neighborhood is on the city’s South side.  It is best known for its notoriety and high crime.

The two officers were assigned to conduct a follow up investigation to a previous incident.  Anthony Guglielmi also disclosed that the two officers were wearing civilian clothes but had on vests with police badges on them at the time of the incident.

Police disclosed that the officers and their families are being provided with extra security because it is believed the incident was a target attack. Chicago Fraternal Order of Police President Kevin Graham said, "Families don't know if their spouse, if their father, their mother is going to be coming home from the job. That's always the danger"

Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson said, “Make no mistake about it.  We're going to catch them.  We're going to get these individuals responsible.  Listen, if they would fire at police officers like that, then they have no thought process in terms of firing at other citizens of this great city"

"We have some promising leads.  As a matter of fact, we have a few persons of interest that we're talking to right now, so we'll see where that leads us," Johnson continued.  Three men are presently being quizzed over the incident.
