PRESIDENT TRUMP TO VISIT ISRAEL, THE VATICAN AND SAUDI ARABIA ON FIRST OVERSEAS TRIP AS U.S. PRESIDENT

White House officials have disclosed that President Trump will be visiting Israel, the Vatican and Saudi Arabia later in May in what will be his first foreign trip since he assumed office.

An appearance at a NATO meeting in Brussels during the third week of the month and a stop at the G7 summit will conclude the president’s tour sources say.

Since taking over at the White House, the President has delegated traveling duties to his top aides and cabinet officials.  Mike Pence, the vice President, has been on two international trips.   Other key cabinet officials who have also visited foreign nation under the Donald Trump administration include national security adviser H.R. McMaster and Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.

Jared Kushner, the president’s senior adviser and son-in-law alongside Joint Chiefs of Staff chairman Gen. Joseph Dunford visited the Middle East in March and held a meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al – Abadi.  The visit was to discuss counter-terrorism measures.

Several foreign leaders have visited the White House; some officials say that’s enough to show that President Donald Trump has a great influence on foreign affairs even from the White House.  Palestinian leader, Mahmoud Abbas is the most recent foreign leader to visit the American leader at the White House.

President Trump had earlier revealed at a press conference with the Prime Minister of Italy, Paolo Gentiloni, that he would be interested in meeting with the Pope.

Israeli officials confirmed last week that they were in an advanced stage of talks with the White House for the president to visit Jerusalem.
