NORTH KOREA ACCUSES U.S. AND SOUTH KOREA OF PLOT TO KILL KIM JONG UN
North Korean Authorities on Friday accused South Korea and the United States of an unsuccessful plot to take the life of President Kim Jong Un. The U.S and South Korean spy agencies were accused of drawing a plan to assassinate Kim Jong Un, the North Korean dictator, through the use of a “biochemical substance” North Korea Officials say.
In a statement released on Friday, North Korea’s state-run Korean Central News Agency said, “They hatched a plot of letting human scum Kim commit bomb terrorism targeting the supreme leadership during events at the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun and at the military parade and public procession after his return home.” According to a translation by Reuters.
“They told him that assassination by use of biochemical substances including radioactive substance and nano poisonous substance is the best method that does not require access to the target, their lethal results will appear after six or twelve months”, the statement continued.
The date of the assassination attempt was not disclosed. President Kim however presided over a military parade in the second week of April. The parade in Pyongyang was part of celebrations of the 105th birth anniversary of Kim II Sung, North Korea’s late founder and Kim Jong Un’s grandfather.
KCNA said, “Criminals going hell-bent to realize such a pipe dream cannot survive on this land even a moment”
The North Korean Ministry of State and Security also promised to ferret out and mercilessly destroy the terrorists in the CIA and South Korean intelligence agency for targeting its supreme leadership.
The ministry said the spy agencies ideologically corrupted and bribed a North Korean citizen to carry out the alleged assassination back in June of 2014.
